Compliance Officer

Norske Skog is a world leading producer of newsprint and magazine paper, with 14 paper mills around the world. Our business units and sales network confer a unique position. The world market for newsprint and magazine paper is about 60 million tonnes, and the group has about 10 per cent and five per cent of these segments respectively. The groups operating revenue in 2008 was approximately NOK 26,5 billion. To our headquarter we are now recruiting for a challenging position, which will operate in a very dynamic environment

Job Description:

• Facilitate compliance risk assessment and develop risk  mitigation
• plans
• Improve infrastructure and controls
• Monitoring of compliance to law, regulations, corporate policies, standards and board decisions
• Responsible for updating and develop corporate policies and
• standards
• Assess effectiveness and efficiency of corporate policies and
• standards
• Test the quality of processes and procedures
• Training in relevant internal regulations like code of conduct and stock exchange
• related policies
• Coordinate compliance investigations and reported incidents
• Advisor to senior management in relations to its compliance related responsibilities

Experience: 

• Minimum 5 years work experience total and minimum 2 years experience from compliance work. Preferably, experience from industry 

Education: 

• Master in Law / Graduate in Law.  Candidates with audit/finance degrees and relevant  work experience will also be considered
