Located close to the mouth of the Bio-Bio river were it empties into the Pacific Ocean near Concepción.
About 50 per cent of newsprint production is for domestic Chilean newsprint market. The other 50 per cent of the mill’s newsprint production is exported to other South American countries, notably Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay and Ecuador.
In telephone directory paper production the domestic market represents 30 per cent and the other 70 per cent is exported mainly to Brazil, Argentina, Perú and Colombia.
The mill utilises wood from plantation radiata pine. All wood is bought from independent forest companies. The mill has no plantation or forests of its own.
The mill was commissioned in 1957 and a major up-grading was done in 1990 and 1995
The mill has ISO 9002 certification since 1994.
