Norske Skog Research & Development has changed its name to Technical Support & Development (TSD).

Norske Skog Technical Support and Development (TSD) is a global resource that helps Norske Skog’s business units generate value through technical support and development projects to drive productivity improvements while maintaining or improving quality and driving down costs.

We share knowledge and learn together with the business units to improve technical competence in Norske Skog. The new name better reflects what the department has actually done and will continue to do.

The department’s primary tasks are to give technical support to the business units to strengthen their teams when solving complex problems, and to work on development projects to help achieve productivity, quality improvements and cost reductions.

Our secondary roles include helping to inform the business units of industry developments and assisting them to develop technical competence. We also manage limited external research projects, which we see as critical components that influence industry developments.

TSD members are located close to business units throughout the world, and travel as required to provide the necessary technical support. Our fields of expertise include forestry, wood, mechanical and de-inked fibre, papermaking and paper physics, process chemistry and control, production systems and printing.

This mobile, talented team of scientists and engineers provides Norske Skog business units with the power to strengthen their local technical teams to not only tackle internal operations problems but to support the local technical customer support specialists.
