The corporate environment (CE) department is responsible for developing and maintaining the global environmental policy, and for specifying and following up strategic environmental targets. The CE department works to ensure that the mills (business units) and other functional units set their own environmental targets and perform in accordance with these. The department cooperates closely with other Norske Skog functions.
Most of Norske Skog’s environment-related work takes place at the business units. Each general manager has operational responsibility for meeting environmental targets at their facility. All the mills have a dedicated manager, responsible for environmental matters, who reports directly to the general manager and who cooperates closely with the CE department.
