Successful start up of PM6 at Norske Skog Saugbrugs

The rebuild of PM6 at Norske Skog Saugbrugs in Halden, Norway has been successfully completed.

The investment of NOK 90 million was made in order to improve paper quality. The rebuild involved installation of a new dilution control headbox, reconfiguration of the felts in the dryer section, and installation of new steam boxes on the super calanders.

The start up of the paper machine was possible after a 9.5 day stop, 12 hours earlier than planned. The paper profiles and analysis are very good.

The rebuild of PM6 confirms the mill's position as producer of high quality magazine paper (SCA) to the most demanding rotogravure customers around the world.
