Norske Skog enters into a 5-year transport agreement with Euroshuttle

Norske Skog has extended its co-operation with Euroshuttle A/S by concluding a 5-year intermodal agreement, running from 1st of January 2005 until 31st December 2009.

The contract is replacing the actual transport from Norske Skog Follum to Filipstad where Norske Skog will close its terminal operations during the first half year 2005.The contract further covers the domestic transport from Norske Skog Follum to the port of Halden and the international door-door transports from Norske Skog Union, Norske Skog Follum and Norske Skog Saugbrugs to various markets in Continental Europe (mainly Germany and Italy).

The new agreement is the prolongation of a good co-operation between Norske Skog and Euroshuttle that started in 1992 and that gradually expanded to the present status.

The transport systems from Euroshuttle will accommodate approx. 440.000 tons of finished paper per year and will entail cost improvements, operational efficiency and environmental friendly transportation.

This new contract with Euroshuttle complements the shortsea shipping contract Norske Skog signed last year with LysLine/DFDS.
