Specification of comparable operating earnings

In yesterday's stock exchange notification, Norske Skog stated that the gross operating earnings in the first quarter of 2009 would be significantly weaker than in the fourth quarter of 2008, but somewhat better than in the first quarter of 2008. This is mainly due to low volumes in the beginning of 2009.

Media news coverage has made it necessary to specify that the comparable gross operating earnings were NOK 922 million for the fourth quarter of 2008 and NOK 489 million (including earnings from the mills sold in Korea) for the first quarter of 2008.
