New IT contract signed with HP
HP will be Norske Skog's global provider of IT infrastructure, operating services and application management. HP has been the provider of these services to Norske Skog since 2004.
The existing outsourcing contract has a similar service scope but HP will now, in cooperation with Norske Skog, transform parts of the services to new solutions.

"We believe in a future in paper, and we believe in the future of the industry, but are at the same time dependent on an optimal technological platform to be competitive. HP's innovative solutions will clearly contribute to this," says Sven Ombudstvedt, President and CEO of Norske Skog.
The agreement involves a transformation of Norske Skog's IT infrastructure to a Cloud-based solution from one of HP's key data centers in Europe. With this, Norske Skog is taking the first step into the next generation of IT solutions, where scalability and cost optimization are key elements.
"We greatly appreciate this renewed confidence after nine years as a provider of critical services to Norske Skog," says Anita Krohn Traaseth, managing director of HP Norway.
"Norske Skog has been and will be a good reference for a number of other Norwegian customers who are facing the same choices and adaption requirements that various industries now face in the coming years," says Jan Carlsen, Director of Outsourcing at HP Norway.
