The President’s HSE Prize for 2018 awarded to Norske Skog Saugbrugs

The President’s HSE Prize for 2018 has been awarded to Norske Skog Saugbrugs for their steady improvement within HSE performance. Saugbrugs ended 2018 with H1 and H2 values of 0 and 6, respectively, which is the best results for the mill ever.

For reference the mill in 2017 had H1 value of 2 and H2 value of 7, and in 2016 a H1 value of 1 and a H2 value of 8. Also the overall injury frequency indicator (H3) has improved. The mill has carried out the highest number of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) within the group, with the prioritization going forward the quality of these JSAs. Saugbrugs is also among the best in the group to follow up and close cases in Synergy, and in terms of report improvements measures in Synergy Saugbrugs scores best. The housekeeping standard has also considerably improved over the past year, which was highlighted by IF in the December 2018 insurance survey as “best in class”.

The prize is meant as recognition of good work within HSE over time, but also as an inspiration for further improvement as we also in 2018 experienced unwanted incidents at the mill.
