10 Jun 2004 Class Action Lawsuit against paper companies
Norske Skogindustrier ASA ("Norske Skog") has learned that an antitrust class action lawsuit has been filed in federal court in the United States relating to purported antitrust injuries in an alleged magazine paper market. The listed defendants include Norske Skog and several other paper companies.
The class action lawsuit appears to be based on the investigations initiated by the EFTA Surveillance Authority, EU Commission and various other competition authorities in Europe on May 25, 2004. This type of class action very often follows the announcement of an antitrust investigation by government antitrust enforcement agencies.
Norske Skog has not yet been served the court motion, but expect that this will happen in the near future.
