Human rights
At Norske Skog, we believe that respect for human rights is a cornerstone of responsible and sustainable business. Our operations, supply chains, and partnerships involve people across many countries and cultures, and we recognize our responsibility to safeguard the dignity, safety, and well-being of everyone potentially affected by our activities.
We are committed to supporting internationally recognized human rights as set out in the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the ILO Core Conventions, and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. This includes ensuring fair and decent working conditions, promoting equality and non-discrimination, and addressing potential risks of negative impacts linked to our operations and value chain.
In line with the Norwegian Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven), we conduct human rights due diligence to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for how we manage risks. This is an ongoing process that requires openness, dialogue, and continuous improvement.
By integrating human rights considerations into our daily decisions and long-term strategies, Norske Skog aims not only to comply with laws and standards, but to contribute positively to the communities in which we operate.
