Norske Skog Saugbrug's Sustainability Report for 2020 is now ready. The report shows our ambitions, results and plans towards the various sustainability goals the mill has identified as important.
Last jumbo roll of paper produced at the Tasman mill
After 66 years of continuous newsprint production at the Tasman mill, the last jumbo roll of paper was produced today on the Tasman newsprint machine. After a 6-month strategic review of the mill, its closure along with the sale of the mill’s assets was decided earlier this month.

Norske Skog’s board of directors has made the final investment decision to convert one machine at the Bruck (Austria) industrial site from newsprint to recycled containerboard production. This is the first major step of the two planned European conversion projects in the group’s strategy of establishing Norske Skog as a leading independent European producer of recycled containerboard.

Promising future for the Tasman mill and Nature’s Flame
The Tasman mill has over the last period commenced production of paper for supplies into the Asian packaging markets in the form of Pulp on Reel. This is part of the ongoing strategic development process to transition the Tasman mill in New Zealand out of standard newprint production.
